Authorities seize 30,000 Cuban cigars at O'Hare
CHICAGO

U.S. customs officials at O'Hare International Airport say they have
seized 30,000 Cuban cigars there in the past two weeks, and are
inspecting another 70,000 they suspect may be from Cuba.

David Murphy, director of field operations at the Customs and Border
Protection Agency's Chicago field office says agents typically seize 10
or 12 Cuban cigars a week at O'Hare's international mail facility.

Murphy told the Chicago Tribune Monday that agents have never seen
anything like the recent influx of the cigars from Europe.

It's illegal to import any Cuban product into the United States without
a license from the U.S. Treasury Department.
