The scarcity of chemical reagents in Cuban labs has once again put the
population living with HIV/AIDS at a disadvantage because they cannot
conduct certain lab tests.

According to some of the reports from health facilities, the scarcity of
the reagents is a problem at the national level, with no exceptions in
any hospital. According to carriers of HIV/AIDS the absence of the
reagents makes it impossible to perform analyses of Viral Loads.

The clinical analysis of Vital Load is one of the tests periodically
conducted on people living with HIV/AIDS with the objective of
controlling the percentage of the HIV virus. According to those
affected, the lack of the reagents began at the beginning of this year.
