Namibia Will Donate Nearly 150 Animals to Cuban National Zoo

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 18 (acn) Namibia will donate almost 150 animals in
2012 to the Cuban National Zoo, according to members of a delegation
from the Namibian Ministry of Tourism and the Environment who are
currently on a working visit to Cuba.

"The donation will include leopards, lions, foxes, cats, ostriches,
antelopes, elephants, and rhinoceroses," said Santos Cubillas, a
specialist of the Zoo, located in the outskirts of Havana.

Erika Akuenje, Permanent Secretary of the Namibian Ministry of Tourism and
the Environment, told reporters in Havana that they will observe all
sanitary measures in order to prevent the animals from bringing in any
diseases.

Akuenje met with Commander of the Revolution Guillermo Garcia, director of
the National Group for the Preservation of Flora and Fauna, in order to
study the natural and hygienic conditions required by the animals to be
donated.
